Il dr. Alberti si laurea in odontoiatria e protesi dentaria presso l’Alma Mater Studiorum di Bologna nel 1999 con tesi in ortodonzia sociale svolta in Brasile.
Dal 2000 al 2001 ha frequentato il Gelb Center della TUFTS University di Boston in qualità di resident integrato con compiti clinici e di ricerca (uno dei più importanti centri al mondo dedicati esclusivamente alla diagnosi ed al trattamento dei disordini temporo-mandibolari). Di ritorno dall’esperienza americana inizia la libera professione instaurando numerosi rapporti di consulenza.
Nel 2003 apre il proprio studio dedicato esclusivamente all’ortodonzia.
Dal 2005 al 2008 ha collaborato con contratto libero professionale presso il reparto di Ortognatodonzia e Gnatologia del dipartimento di Odontostomatologia dell’Università di Bologna con compiti clinici e di integrazione all’insegnamento.
Dal 2010 è socio della World Federation of Orthodontist (WFO) e dell’Associazione Americana di Ortodonzia (AAO) e dal 2011 socio ordinario della SIDO (Società Italiana di Ortodonzia).
Nel 2011 ha conseguito la specializzazione in ortognatodonzia presso l’Università G. D´Annunzio di Chieti.
Dal 2013 è professore a contratto presso la Scuola di Specializzazione in Ortognatodonzia dell’Università G. D’Annunzio di Chieti.
Il dr. Alberti è stato relatori a numerosi corsi e congressi in Italia e all’estero e nel 2013 ha fondato il forum di ortodonzia clinica www.lacompagniaortodontica.it.

Dr. Badawi completed his DDS at the Jordan University, then his MSc at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London. He acquired the fellowship of the Royal College of Edinburgh. He then took a teaching position as an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba, and then he started his PhD at the University of Alberta in Edmonton Canada. Dr. Badawi currently maintains a busy private practice in Calgary Alberta and is actively involved in orthodontic biomechanics research, he holds a parttime faculty position at the University of Alberta. His work offers some of the most ground breaking research ever seen in the field of orthodontics which will ultimately change the way orthodontics is perceived and practiced.

Dr. Timothy Bandeen attended Central Michigan University as a Centralis Scholar. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in biology and minor in chemistry. He completed his D.D.S. at The University of Michigan School of Dentistry where he graduated again with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honors society. After dental school, he went to The University of Tennessee for his specialty training in orthodontics and to complete his M.S. While at The University of Tennessee, he was awarded the James Powell Research Award for research that contributes to the Arts and Sciences of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics for his thesis “Effects of sickle cell disease on growth of the craniofacial complexes”. After completing his residency, Dr. Timothy Bandeen worked with an orthodontic practice in Southaven, Mississippi and served on the faculty at The University of Tennessee in the orthodontics department as a clinical instructor and as director of the graduate course in cephalometrics and radiology. He has been practicing in Battle Creek since May 2006.

Dr. Barron has enjoyed creating attractive, healthy smiles for patients in the greater Baltimore area for nearly two decades. Professional Training: Dr. Barron’s basic science training began at Northeastern University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Biology and was inducted into the Beta Chapter of the Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society. He received his clinical training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and was awarded a Doctoral Degree in Dental Medicine. While at Tufts, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and the Robert Andrews Honor Society for excellence in biomedical research. Dr. Barron received his Post-Doctoral Degree in Orthodontics, and Masters of Science Degree in Oral Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. In addition to extensive training in clinical orthodontics, his background in cellular biology led to his Masters Thesis research investigating the way in which abnormal proteins are recognized and broken down inside of bone ligament cells. Dr. Barron is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He is also a Fellow in the distinguished Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honorary dental organization recognizing outstanding dentists and their achievements. Professional Experience: In addition to private practice, Dr. Barron has served on staff at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center of Washington, D.C., and is currently a member of the Craniofacial Team at GBMC Hospital, rehabilitating patients with cleft lip and palate. Dr. Barron has been at the forefront of recent technological advancements in orthodontics and is a leader in the new low friction / low force orthodontic treatment technique known as the Damon System. He was one of the first orthodontists in the area to exclusively practice with this technique and has gained significant clinical experience and success with this technology. Furthermore, Dr. Barron is among a handful of prominent orthodontists around the world chosen by Dr. Damon to become a member of his “Damon Champion” group. David Bearn is Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Dundee, Scotland, since 2007. He trained in Sheffield, then undertook his specialty orthodontic training in Newcastle before moving to Manchester where he completed his PhD in cleft lip and palate treatment outcomes. His current research interests are in RCTs of orthodontic treatment, with particular reference to self-ligating systems and micro-implants, and in evidence based dentistry where he has authored systematic reviews and Cochrane Reviews and currently leads the team preparing the Cochrane review of Self-Ligating bracket systems. He is the Director of the Tayside Clinical Trials Unit and has 4 multi-centre RCTs currently active in addition to local single site trials. He has published widely and, during his time at the University of Manchester led the development and implementation of The Manchester Dental Programme, an enquiry based integrated undergraduate dental curriculum.

David Birnie graduated from Edinburgh Dental School in 1970 and spent three years as a lecturer in periodontology before starting his orthodontic training in 1975. Later that year he was appointed registrar in orthodontics at Kingston Hospital, Surrey and at the Royal Dental Hospital, London. In 1977, he moved to the Eastman Dental Hospital as a senior registrar in orthodontics. Since 1982, he has been a consultant orthodontist at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, is a visiting consultant and senior clinical lecturer in orthodontics at the University of Bristol Dental School and is in private orthodontic practice.

-clinical application of biomaterials research
-the non-surgical management of severe malocclusion
David has lectured extensively throughout the United Kingdom including invited presentations at the British Orthodontic Conference, the Consultant Orthodontists Group Symposium, the British Dental Association’s Annual and Scientific Meeting in addition to presenting lectures and papers in Cyprus, China, Belgium, France, Hong Kong, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa and in the USA. Since 2004, David has given courses on passive self-ligation, and fully customised orthodontic appliances, in Australia (Brisbane and Perth), Croatia, Denmark, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. David has also given workshops at the International Damon Symposia held in Monaco (2005, 2006), Barcelona (2007), Rome (2008) and London (2009, 2010). In 2011, he will speak at the 10th Annual Damon Forum in Orlando, Florida.
With Nigel Harradine, David has co-presented Excellence in Orthodontics in the United Kingdom since the first course in 1987 in York and at Excellence in Orthodontics overseas courses in Australia, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and The Netherlands.
David is on the Council of the Faculty of Dental Surgery and is Chair of the Faculty of Health Informatics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh where he is also a member of the Specialist Advisory Board in Orthodontics, Dental Examinations Committee and was an ex officio member of College Council. David passed the Diploma in Medical Informatics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001, a part-time two year course on health informatics delivered over the internet. David represented the College on General Dental Council from 1998-2003 during which time he was a member of the Central Examining Board for Dental Hygienists, the Dental Auxiliaries Committee, the Health Committee, the Professional Conduct Committee, the PCD Curricula Overview Group, the Orthodontic Therapists Curriculum Working Group, the Registration Subcommittee of the Education Committee and the Registration Review Group. David is a past chairman of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry. At Queen Alexandra Hospital, David was Clinical Director for Surgery, Trauma and Oncology from 1994 to 1999 and is currently Associate Medical Director for Queen Alexandra Hospital’s £200 million Redevelopment Project funded through the government’s Private Finance Initiative programme which opened in June 2009 and chairs the Trust’s Change Management Team which applies lean principles to healthcare.
